LCG, January 15, 2026--Origis Energy today announced that Meta and the company signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 240-MW (303-MWdc) Greyhound A Solar project in West Odessa, Texas. The Greyhound A Solar project is scheduled to achieve commercial operations by mid-2026.

LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

UK Reveals Tidal Power Prototype
LCG, June 18, 2002--United Kingdom Energy Minister Brian Wilson presented a new electricity generator which uses the power of ocean tides.The "Stingray" uses the kinetic energy from moving ocean water and transforms it into electricity by way of a hydraulic motor.Engineering Business Ltd., which is developing the project, will move the prototype generator out to a seabed near Shetland. The company plans to build several similar generators if the Stingray is successful.The British government gave GBP1.1 million to the project as part of an attempt to create a GPB1 billion renewable energy market within the next 8 years.
