LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

France's Financial Minister Makes a Move Toward Privatization
LCG, July 17, 2002-The French Ministry of Finance has asked banks to advise on the sale of 13 state-owned companies, which include gas and electricity companies.Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin made a promise to sell state assets, and in support of his assertion two tenders have been issued for banks for advice on privatization. Finance Minister Francis Mer hopes to see the process of privatization begin this August.The first tender involves the sale of parts of gas giant Gaz de France and state electricity company Electricite de France.The banks have until the end of this week to give gas and electricity privatization recommendations; the second tender, relevant to other state-owned companies, has a deadline of next week Monday.Some French organizations have denounced the plans for privatization, including one of France's major trade unions, Confederation Generale du Travail, which asserts that the Ministry had not conducted proper consultations before going ahead with privatization.
