LCG, August 27, 2025--Wärtsilä Energy announced yesterday an agreement with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to supply the engineering and equipment for a 217-MW power plant to be constructed in Liberty, Kentucky. The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, and the plant is expected to be commissioned in early 2028.

LCG, August 25, 2025--The Utah Office of Energy Development (OED), TerraPower and Flagship Companies announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the potential siting of a Natrium® nuclear reactor and energy storage plant in Utah. The MOU establishes a shared commitment to support advanced nuclear technologies to build Utah’s energy future and to prioritize reliability, economic growth and energy abundance.

Scott Forbes has been promoted to senior vice president, chief financial and accounting officer at Texas-New Mexico Power Company. Forbes joined Texas-New Mexico in 1996, and was most recently vice president, chief accounting and information officer. He also held accounting positions at Entergy Services.Douglas Hobbs becomes senior vice president, chief operations officer of Texas-New Mexico Power Company, where he was most recently vice president-transmission and distribution. Hobbs, a registered professional engineer, was a power plant manager for TXU Electric, and a project manager with an energy consulting firm.Texas-New Mexico Power Company has also named Joe Hegwood assistant controller. Hegwood will move to this position from his role as director of accounting, and previously director of finance.CMS Energy has named Tom Webb chief financial officer, succeeding Alan Wright, who is moving to a new company.
