Construction Starts on Panamint Capital's 1.2 GW Solar Project in Texas

LCG, July 23, 2026--Panamint Capital announced today that construction has commenced at Big Rooter Power, a nearly 1.2 GWdc solar PV project located at the company's Twin Oaks power station in Robertson County, Texas. The $1.7 billion will be the largest solar project built at an existing coal mining site in North America.

FERC to Hold Small Generator Transmission Meeting

LCG, August 21, 2002-The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will hold a public discussion on improving transmission from small power plants.

The FERC meeting has been planned according to an April proposal to provide specific interconnections for generators who produce only a small amount of capacity but may use new and renewable technologies.

Small renewable energy generators and other small project investors, after receiving Congressional support by way of tax credits, fear being incapable of competing in the market because they may be unable to reach transmission lines.

The public meeting will be held on September 9.
