Microsoft and Avangrid Sign PPA for Bluebird Solar Project in Washington State

LCG, May 27, 2026--Avangrid, Inc., a member of the Iberdrola Group, today announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Microsoft for the 140 MWdc (100 MWac) Bluebird Solar project in Klickitat County, Washington. Bluebird is located near four other energy projects owned and operated by Avangrid in Klickitat County and represents another $300 million investment in the community. The Bluebird Solar project is expected to achieve commercial operation in 2028.

SCPPA to Build 250 MW Plant

LCG, September 19, 2002-The Southern California Public Power Authority plans to construct a 250-megawatt combined-cycle power plant.

The Magnolia Power Project will be constructed in Burbank, California by Kvaerner E&C at a cost of $112 million. Total plant costs are estimated to be $215 million.

Initial engineering has begun, but outright construction will have to wait for the completion of licensing.

The plant will be located at the same site as two decommissioned generators, which will be dismantled and removed before the new generator is constructed.
