LCG, July 2, 2025--Alliant Energy today announced plans to add up to 1,000 MW of wind energy generating capacity in Iowa to meet demand and ensure reliable, affordable energy for its customers. The plans are included in a filing with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC), and the company anticipates a decision from the IUC in the first quarter of 2026.

SCPPA to Build 250 MW Plant
LCG, September 19, 2002-The Southern California Public Power Authority plans to construct a 250-megawatt combined-cycle power plant.The Magnolia Power Project will be constructed in Burbank, California by Kvaerner E&C at a cost of $112 million. Total plant costs are estimated to be $215 million.Initial engineering has begun, but outright construction will have to wait for the completion of licensing. The plant will be located at the same site as two decommissioned generators, which will be dismantled and removed before the new generator is constructed.
