LCG, June 26, 2025--Invenergy today announced that they and Meta Platforms, Inc. have signed four new clean energy agreements that total an additional 791 MW of procured solar and wind capacity to support Meta's near-term operations, data center growth, and clean energy goals.

LCG, June 23, 2025--The Governor of New York today directed the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to develop and construct an advanced nuclear power plant in upstate New York to deliver zero-emission power that supports a reliable and affordable electric grid. NYPA will lead the effort to develop at least one new nuclear energy facility with a combined capacity of at least one gigawatt (GW) of electricity, either alone or in partnership with private entities. The directive builds on the Governor’s 2025 State of the State to develop nuclear energy plans in New York.

Power Outages Affect 500,000 in Northern California
LCG, DEc. 16, 2002--The San Francisco Bay Area experienced over 300,000 customer power outages and nearby areas another 200,000, all caused by a winter storm packing high winds this weekend.The most serious damage resulted on Saturday, when lines were brought down in many communities by gusts that rarely dropped below 20 to 30 mph. Much stronger winds worsened the situation, as power workers for PG&E responded to constant calls from residents.Some 40,000 customers lost power in San Francisco and the Peninsula, as did 20,000 in San Jose, 46,000 in towns to San Jose's north, and 17,000 around Santa Cruz, where 9 inches of rain fell in 48 hours. As of Sunday night, 63,000 customers were still waiting for power to be restored, although 3,400 regular PG&E crew members were aided by others from outside areas.Further storms are expected in the coming week, according to meteorologists.
