Construction Starts on Panamint Capital's 1.2 GW Solar Project in Texas

LCG, July 23, 2026--Panamint Capital announced today that construction has commenced at Big Rooter Power, a nearly 1.2 GWdc solar PV project located at the company's Twin Oaks power station in Robertson County, Texas. The $1.7 billion will be the largest solar project built at an existing coal mining site in North America.

Calpine Geothermal Plants to Support Reliability in California

LCG, Feb. 26, 2003--An agreement between Calpine Corp. and the California Independent System Operator will allow the grid operator to dispatch over a dozen geothermal plants owned by Calpine to maintain grid reliability.

The agreement governs 13 of its 19 Geysers generating units in Northern California, and will provide Calpine revenue from $40 million to $45 million each year for 2003, 2004 and 2005. The generators will be designated "reliability-must-run" resources.

The units may also be used to produce power for the ISO at a contracted price, or for other buyers.
