LCG, March 4, 2003Two people working at the Susquehanna plant in Pennsylvania were found to be carrying radioactive material on their clothes.Yesterday, monitoring systems found the radiation as the two were leaving a secured area. Plant managers assert the level of radiation was not far above background radiation. The two people are contractors and had most recently done work in Sweden. Company officials have said that the radiatioactive material most likely came from another job, noting that Monday was the contractors first day within the secured area.PPL, which owns the plant, has said the surrounding area is not radioactive, and General Electric, which employs the contractors, is conducting its own investigation.
