850 MW Southern California Plant On Line Soon
LCG, April 17, 2003The 850 MW High Desert plant is likely to start operations early this summer. The natural gas-fired plant was placed on the California Independent System Operators (ISO) outage list yesterday, adding some confusion regarding the plants status as the majority of plants on the list have been taken out of service temporarily, as opposed to waiting to enter service for the first time. Constellation Energy Group, which owns the plant, is still conducting tests but expects to bring the plant on line soon. Constellation owns over 12,000 MW capacity in the United States and is based in Baltimore, Maryland.
