El Paso Energy Partners, L.P. Becomes GulfTerra

LCG, May 1, 2003El Paso Energy Partners, L.P has decided to change its name and stock ticker.

El Paso Energy Partners was the third-largest master limited partnership in the country at the end of last year and is changing its name in an effort to distinguish itself from the El Paso Corporation, the large pipeline company which is an indirect partner. Although probably not its intended, the move will also distinguish the company from completely unrelated utility El Paso Electric.

No mention was made as to whether or not the name change came in response to El Paso Corporation'ss economic situation, which has resulted in the sale of several assets.

The name GulfTerra is intended to relate to the size and scope of the partnerships midstream operations, according to CEO Robert Phillips.

GulfTerras New York Stock Exchange Symbol will be GTM.
