The Spagnoli Road plant will be natural gas-fired, and is to be built in Hungtinton, Long Island, in time for planned operation in 2005. The project received approval on the grounds of environmental regulation and public need.

The site on which Spagnoli Road is to be built is undeveloped, part of a 31-acre parcel in proximity to the Ruland Road substation of the Long Island Power Authority. The cost of the combined-cycle plant was not disclosed.
