LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Southwest Valley 500-kV Project Operating
LCG, June 30, 2003--The Salt River Project and Arizona Public Service Co. on Friday marked the completion of installation and beginning of operations for the 37-mile, 500-kV-rated Southwest Valley Transmission Project.The utilities, which are the largest in Arizona, divided construction management of the transmission line (Arizona Public Service) and 500/230-kV substation (Salt River Project). The new line will allow transmission of 1,263 megawatts from the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.In tribute to what SRP President Bill Schrader called "tireless contributions toward improving our quality of life here in the West" by five-term U.S. congressman and four-term SRP board member Elton Rudd, who played a significant part in affecting decisions concerning water reclamation, flood control and environmental planning, the substation was commissioned "Rudd".
