Indiana Coal Plant Converted to Natural Gas

LCG, June 19, 2003Cinergy/PSIs Noblesville coal-fired power plant is being converted over to natural gas.

Construction, beginning in January 2002, has greatly expanded the plants capacity and will reduce overall emissions by the changeover to natural gas.

Three new combustion turbines were installed at the plant, and the old turbines are powered by steam supplied by the new turbines, resulting in a net generating capacity of roughly 300 megawatts.

The plant will operate primarily during peaking periods.

Cinergy Corporation is the parent to several companies involved with energy production and sale in the Midwest.
