LCG, November 2, 2026--Vistra Corp. announced on October 30 that, following receipt of all required regulatory approvals, it has completed the acquisition of Cogentrix Energy from funds managed by Quantum Capital Group. The acquisition consists of 10 natural gas-fired power generation facilities totaling nearly 5,500 MW of capacity. The addition of Cogentrix's facilities to Vistra's existing generation portfolio raises Vistra's U.S. generation portfolio to nearly 50,000 MW.

LCG, October 23, 2026--INNIO N.V. yesterday announced a 620 MW follow-on order from a developer and operator of mega-scale data center campuses in the United States. Together with the customer's 1.1 GW order announced previously in July, the new order brings cumulative orders from the customer to approximately 1.72 GW this year.

Indiana Coal Plant Converted to Natural Gas
LCG, June 19, 2003Cinergy/PSIs Noblesville coal-fired power plant is being converted over to natural gas. Construction, beginning in January 2002, has greatly expanded the plants capacity and will reduce overall emissions by the changeover to natural gas. Three new combustion turbines were installed at the plant, and the old turbines are powered by steam supplied by the new turbines, resulting in a net generating capacity of roughly 300 megawatts. The plant will operate primarily during peaking periods. Cinergy Corporation is the parent to several companies involved with energy production and sale in the Midwest.
