Utah PSC Authorizes Lake Side Power Project

LCG, November 16, 2004--Utah Public Service Commission authorized PacifiCorp and its regulated affiliate, Utah Power, to proceed with the construction of the 534-MW Lake Side Power Project. The gas-fired project will be located northwest of Provo near Vineyard, Utah and is estimated to cost $330 million.

The Lake Side Power Project will be built by Summit Energy, with a target completion date of 2007. The plant will be owned and operated by PacifiCorp.

In March of this year, the Commission also approved Pacificorp's 525-MW, gas-fired Currant Creek power project, which was estimated to cost $345 million. Both plants are expected to be included in PacifiCorp's ratebase.
