LCG, April 15, 2026--Suniva announced yesterday that it has entered agreements to bring a state-of-the-art 4.5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility to Laurens, South Carolina. The new facility, combined with Suniva’s existing facility at its headquarters in metro Atlanta, will bring the company’s total annual domestic solar cell manufacturing capacity to over 5.5 GW.

LCG, April 13, 2026--The EIA today released an "In-brief Analysis" of U.S. coal-fired generating capacity retirements in 2025. A highlight of the analysis is that, during 2025, the electric power sector retired 2.6 GW of coal-fired generating capacity at four power plants, which is (i) the least since 2010 and (ii) 5.9 GW less than the planned retirement of 8.5 GW at the beginning of 2025.

GE Increases Investments in Texas Wind Projects
LCG, November 2, 2007--GE Energy Financial Services, a unit of General Electric Company, announced yesterday its investment in a wind farm located in west Texas with Invenergy Wind LLC. Construction began this summer, and the project is scheduled to commence operations in April 2008.
The project, the Stanton Wind Energy LLC project, has a design capacity of 120-MW and will include 80 GE 1.5-Mw wind turbines. The project will interconnect with the Midland East to Big Springs West 138 kV line. Electricity generated by the project will be sold into the ERCOT market.
According to GE Energy Financial Services, the company holds equity in 51 wind farms around the world, with an electric generating capacity of over 2.5 GW. GE plans to double its more than $2 billion of renewable energy investments by 2010.
