FPL Energy Plans Another Wind Project for North Dakota

LCG, June 27, 2008--The North Dakota Public Service Commission was recently notified by FPL Energy that it plans to construct a 150-MW wind farm in southeastern North Dakota. The project is estimated to cost approximately $300 million and will include roughly 100 wind turbines.

The turbines will be installed on a 20-acre site in Dickey County, and construction is anticipated to commence in July 2009 and to be completed by year-end.

FPL Energy currently operates wind farms with an installed capacity of over 300 MW in North Dakota. Early this year FPL Energy filed a permit application for the Barnes County wind farm with the Commission. Approval was recently granted for the project, which will include 133 wind turbines and have an electric generating capacity of approximately 200 MW.
