LCG, October 15, 2008--Indianapolis Power & Light Co. (IPL) announced Monday that, together with enXco, it plans to proceed with the development of the Hoosier Wind Park, to be built in Benton County, Indiana. Key factors pushing the project forward are that the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission on October 1 approved the 20-year, power purchase agreement (PPA) between IPL and enXco, and Congress recently extended the Federal Renewable Tax Credit.

The Hoosier Wind Park will include 21, 2-MW wind turbines with a total electric generating capacity of 102 MW. EnXco will build the wind farm. The project is scheduled to commence in December 2008, with commercial operations scheduled to begin in May 2009.

BP Alternative Energy and Dominion are also developing the Fowler Ridge Wind Farm, located approximately 90 miles northwest of Indianapolis. When completed, the capacity of the wind farm will be 750 MW.
