LCG, July 2, 2025--Alliant Energy today announced plans to add up to 1,000 MW of wind energy generating capacity in Iowa to meet demand and ensure reliable, affordable energy for its customers. The plans are included in a filing with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC), and the company anticipates a decision from the IUC in the first quarter of 2026.

Elkhorn Ridge Wind Project Commences Operations
LCG, March 19, 2009--The Elkhorn Ridge Wind Project is now generating electricity and delivering power to the grid in Nebraska. The 80-MW project is located near Bloomfield, Nebraska and includes 27 wind turbines. The project cost $140 million.
Elkhorn Ridge is majority-owned by Edison Mission Group (EMG), a subsidiary of Edison International. One-third of the project is owned by Tenaska.
Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) purchases all of the electricity generated by the wind farm and will in turn sell half of the power generated to Omaha Public Power District (OPPD), the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska, Lincoln Electric System and Grand Island Utilities.
