LCG, October 28, 2025--NextEra Energy and Google yesterday announced two agreements that will help meet growing electricity demand from artificial intelligence (AI) with clean, reliable, 24/7 nuclear power and strengthen the nation's nuclear leadership. First, Google signed a new, 25-year agreement for power generated at the Duane Arnold Energy Center, Iowa's only nuclear power facility. AES Begins Operations of 40-MW Energy Storage System in Ohio
LCG, October 1, 2013--AES Corporation (AES) announced yesterday that operations have commenced at a 40-MW electric battery storage system in Ohio. The new storage capacity is now installed at Dayton Power and Light's (DP&L) Tait Generating Station, a 586-MW peaking facility located south of Dayton, Ohio.
The new battery storage resource is Ohio's largest electric-storage system, with 800,000 cells. The resource is designed to provide frequency regulation service to the PJM market and delivers a new energy technology to Ohio. The storage resource can displace power generation from aging, inefficient power plants and potentially reduce overall system emissions.
DP&L is a utility subsidiary of AES.
