State-of-the-Art Algorithms. We don’t rely on assumptions and simplifications. Our network power models weigh all the details and comfortably outperform historical trends and regression for identifying risks and opportunities. We value all the millions of paths for all times of use. Our CRR forecasts have been well tested with a long history of success in California, as well as across the country. Even other consultancies use our CRR analytics to crunch their numbers.
The Latest Data. We leave no stone unturned. Our analysts continuously update our data models, digesting every scrap of available intelligence on the California market, from gigabytes of historical congestion to the best available information on transmission, generators, interfaces, contingencies, fuel forecasts, and loads.
More than Three Decades of Experience on Five Continents. We’ve been investigating what drives electricity prices in California since 1982. We simulate electricity markets using Security-Constrained Unit Commitment and Sub-Hourly Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch. We perform coordinated marginal cost-based energy and ancillary service procurement, congestion management, and thorough contingency analysis that mirrors those used by most U.S. market operators, including CAISO.
About LCG Consulting: Silicon Valley-based LCG Consulting has been modeling electricity for more than 30 years. In that time, energy market participants and research institutions across the United States and internationally have relied on our models for every type of application, from electricity trading, plant siting, asset valuation, and testimony support.
